You can make a difference while soaking up the rays

People who enjoy working outdoors without having to wear ski boots might want to answer the call of Southern Rhode Island Volunteers (SRIV), which has some opportunities for seniors that want to enjoy Mother Nature while helping their neighbors.

Southern R.I. agency calling on older adults

Southern Rhode Island Volunteers (previously known as Seniors Helping Others) can help people put their talents to use through volunteer opportunities. The agency is a clearing-house to place volunteers with its 110 nonprofit community partners.
Nonprofits seeking volunteers and positions that need to be filled include:

SRI Volunteers: A receptionist for Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m.,  to answer phones, refer calls appropriately to staff and help arrange medical transportation or visitations for clients.

South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce:  One or two clerical assistants to fill in on Tuesday or Thursday mornings; duties will include data entry and filing and working at the Chamber’s Tourists and Welcome Information Center.
