Start the new year with 1964

WOONSOCKET – You can take a musical journey back to one of the most cherished periods of rock ‘n’ roll when Beatles tribute band 1964 performs Jan. 21 and 22 at the Stadium Theatre Per-forming Arts Centre, 28 Monument Square.
Critics and fans hail 1964 as the most authentic and endearing Beatles tribute band in the world, according to the Stadium’s Jordan Harris. The band’s play list includes classic songs such as "A Hard Days Night," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Twist and Shout" and "Yellow Submarine." The band not only replicates the Beatles’ sound, but the looks and gestures of 1964 members are convincing, too. Harris said audiences must be ready to experience hip shaking, loud screaming, hand clapping and uncontrollable dancing during the show, which is slated to start at 8 p.m.
The tribute band has been featured on national television shows such as “Enter-tainment Tonight” and “PM Maga-zine.” The group has toured throughout the world, performing at major concert venues as well as fairs, festivals, colleges, corporate events and conventions. Highlights include performances at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool, England.  Readers of “Campus Activities Today Maga-zine” voted 1964 the Best Major Concert Act and Best Contemporary Act.
Admission is $36 for orchestra select seating, $31 for orchestra seating and $26 for balcony. Tickets are available at the Stadium Theatre box office and also can be purchased by calling (401) 762-4545 or online at www.stadiumtheatre.com.
