Donna M. McGowan accepts a Salute to Seniors’ citation from Gregory Gelineau, head of Bankers Life and Casualty Co.’s regional office in Warwick. McGowan, 58, the new executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association Rhode Island Chapter, was featured in the December edition of “Senior Digest” for her professional accomplishments and her volunteer work. Despite a hectic schedule, she still mentors eight students and conducted a 10-year volunteer effort for passage of legislation in Rhode Island to grant tax credits to businesses that fund scholarships so children of low-income families can attend private schools.
