It was a great return on a small investment. No, we’re obviously not talking about the stock market. But after planting those small seedlings, tomato plants and cucumber seeds back in early May, we’re now reaping our rewards in the form of dozens of red, ripe tomatoes, oodles of green beans and a good supply of cucumbers and peppers. Not to mention all that zucchini and eggplant. That’s the way it is in many gardens in the Ocean and Bay states as the summer winds down.
