Mini-dental implants are mega-solution

Ask Your Dentist by Guillaume Lepine

Patients often come into my office with complaints about their dentures moving around while eating and talking. That makes normal routines difficult and a lot of patients start to lose their confidence from embarrassment. I also see patients who are hesitant to smile because they are missing teeth. Luckily, there’s an easy solution: mini-dental implants.
Noninvasive and low risk, the procedure is known for giving patients “teeth in a day.” Mini-implants are inexpensive and non-surgical -- an option I highly recommended for anybody that would like to replace missing teeth or secure loose dentures. The mini-implants are inserted into the jaw bone, and natural looking porcelain crowns are placed over the implants. Dentures can also be shaped to snap right onto the implants. You will no longer have to worry about loose dentures and missing teeth, and you will have your confidence back in no time.
You may be wondering what the procedure is like, and I will address that in future articles. Suffice it to say that because the implants require no surgery, patients experience little or no pain and discomfort. It is advised that at first, patients avoid eating sticky and hard foods and dentures should be worn until bedtime. After dentures are removed, it is recommended to rinse your mouth with antiseptic wash. Removal may take some time to get used to, but once you are familiar with the process, it is quite simple.
In addition to being low risk, mini-implants can be trusted due to their success rate. Obviously, maintaining good dental hygiene and seeing your dentist every six months is a must to ensure everything stays healthy.
